Affordability & An Economy That Works For Us

Every single month, the bills get higher while our paychecks buy less. Costs have skyrocketed for housing, groceries, healthcare, and utilities—and it’s not an accident. It is the direct result of a rigged system that rewards corporate price gouging and billionaire profits while forcing everyday people to make impossible choices just to survive. Maryland is one of the wealthiest states in the nation, yet nearly 40% of our working families can barely afford the basic cost of living, and an entire generation of young people feel priced out of ever owning a home or starting a family. For too long, career politicians have told us to “be patient” while handing out tax breaks to giant corporations, leaving the workers, seniors, and small business owners who keep this country running to be treated as an afterthought.

I am running for Congress to tackle this affordability crisis on day one and put working people first. I am fighting to lower costs directly by capping prescription drug prices, aggressively expanding affordable housing, and cracking down on corporate monopolies that artificially hike the price of food and rent. We must build a modern economy that works for every zip code—not just wealthy ones—by investing in local infrastructure, strengthening unions, and creating stable, good-paying jobs. If you work hard, you shouldn’t just be trapped in survival mode; you deserve the economic security to live with true dignity.
