Universal Healthcare & Ending Medical Bankruptcy
In the wealthiest nation on earth, millions of families are forced to delay or completely avoid life-saving medical care simply because they can’t afford the bill. We are living through a public health crisis where preventable conditions become fatal, and families are driven into financial ruin over a single emergency room visit. It is a national disgrace that our healthcare system treats human survival as a business model designed to enrich insurance companies and Big Pharma while squeezing everyday people dry. Prescription drugs cost multiple times more in America than in any other developed country because of unchecked pharmaceutical price gouging. No one should ever have to make the impossible choice between filling a life-saving prescription and paying their rent or putting food on the table.
I am running for Congress to put an end to this corporate exploitation and guarantee universal healthcare as a fundamental human right for every single American. I will fight to expand Medicare into a universal system or establish a robust, comprehensive public option that guarantees full coverage—including primary care, mental health services, reproductive healthcare, and prescription drugs—regardless of your income or employment status. We must aggressively cap prescription costs, eliminate hidden administrative fees, and enforce total price transparency to break the stranglehold that corporate monopolies have on our health. Guaranteeing healthcare for all isn’t radical; it is a necessary investment in a healthier, more stable society where illness never results in financial ruin.
