Disability Rights, Accessibility, & Full Inclusion
Disability rights are human rights, yet millions of Americans are routinely locked out of full participation in society because accessibility is treated as a secondary luxury rather than a fundamental standard. From broken public transit systems and inaccessible workplaces to schools and digital platforms that fail to accommodate diverse needs, our current systems actively treat people with disabilities as an afterthought. This systemic neglect is compounded by an adversarial, nightmare bureaucracy that forces disabled Americans to fight tooth and nail just to secure basic healthcare, mobility equipment, and essential support services. To make matters worse, outdated federal loopholes like Section 14(c) continue to allow corporations to exploit disabled workers by paying them pennies on the dollar. It is a profound failure of dignity and justice, and we must aggressively dismantle these barriers.
I am running for Congress to ensure that every individual has the federal protection, resources, and structural support necessary to live with true independence. I will fight to fiercely defend and expand the Americans with Disabilities Act, permanently ban exploitative subminimum wages nationwide, and secure robust federal funding for home- and community-based care. True equity means protecting Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) from partisan budget cuts while expanding employment opportunities for neurodivergent individuals and those with invisible disabilities. We must design policies with disabled people, not just for them, ensuring that lived experience drives our laws. I am fighting for a society that refuses to exclude anyone from opportunity, financial stability, or human dignity because of a disability.
