About

Theo Gillespie

Theo is a transgender activist, musician, and entrepreneur dedicated to advancing human rights and equality. As the first openly transgender politician running for the U.S. House of Representatives in District 7. Theo has a mission to bring bold, inclusive leadership to the community that shaped him.

Born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, Theo’s values are deeply rooted in hard work, resilience, and service. He comes from a working-class family—his father a blue-collar worker and his mother a white-collar professional, now retired—giving him a unique perspective on the economic challenges and opportunities facing everyday Americans. He is also the proud grandson of a U.S. Army veteran who served during World War II, a legacy that continues to inspire his commitment to country and community.

Throughout his life, Theo has been a powerful advocate for change, using his voice to uplift marginalized communities and push for a more equitable future. Whether through his activism, his music, or his entrepreneurial ventures, he has consistently worked to challenge the status quo and create meaningful impact.

Now, Theo is taking that passion to Congress—fighting for the people of District 7 and working to build a future defined by opportunity, dignity, and justice for all.
