LGBTQ+ Equality, Dignity, & Defending Human Rights
Every single person deserves the fundamental freedom to live openly, safely, and authentically without fear of discrimination, harassment, or state-sponsored political violence. Right now, across the country, LGBTQ+ individuals—especially transgender and nonbinary youth—are being ruthlessly targeted by extremist politicians who use divisive rhetoric and cruel legislation as political weapons for electoral gain. From attempts to censor representation in our schools to stripping away life-saving healthcare, these coordinated attacks are creating real-world dangers. It is a profound violation of civil rights when vulnerable young people face disproportionately high rates of bullying, housing insecurity, and suicide because the system treats their very existence as a political debate. Equality is absolutely non-negotiable, and we cannot afford to stay quiet while our neighbors’ dignity is stripped away.
I am running for Congress to stand as an fierce wall against this bigotry and to codify comprehensive federal anti-discrimination protections into law. I will fight to pass the Equality Act to permanently protect LGBTQ+ Americans in housing, employment, education, and healthcare, while fiercely defending marriage equality and access to safe, evidence-based gender-affirming care. True public safety means investing heavily in mental health resources, anti-bullying initiatives, and homelessness prevention programs that directly protect marginalized youth. Diversity does not weaken America; it strengthens us. It is time for a federal government that uses its power to protect people’s rights and safety, rather than deciding whose identity deserves basic human respect.
